Although grades may be calculated in ulearn, a grade for EACH student listed on your roster MUST be submitted via jwuLink BEFORE the grading deadline.

Where do I enter final grades in jwuLink?

Academics Page > Roster & Grading > click Enter final grades > select term & CRN > read all on-screen instructions.

You will have the option to import grades from ulearn , but remember to select an external grade column & make sure it has a valid letter grade (not numeric).

F, I, GP, and U grades will not import from ulearn and you will be required to manually enter these grades along with a last attend date on the grade submission roster (MM/DD/YYYY format; ex. 10/08/2020). Students who withdraw will automatically be issued a withdrawal grade by Student Academic Services (SAS). Last attend date of student withdrawals will be populated with the date of notification of the student’s withdrawal. This date should not be modified.

What is next after I submit grades?

Review your official class roster to confirm each student is graded and grades are accurate.

What grade should I assign each student?

Refer to the appropriate grading key & issue grades accordingly:

If the student’s registration status indicates a drop, students will automatically be issued a withdrawal grade by Student Academic Services. Last attend date of student withdrawals will be populated with the date of notification of the student’s withdrawal. This date should not be modified.

If you’re instructing a baking/culinary lab (or a course with an experiential education component) and dropping a student due to excessive absences, you must enter a grade of W along with a last attend date on the grade submission roster (MM/DD/YYYY format; ex. 05/05/2017).

Which grades require a Last Attend Date?

For grades of F, I and U, you MUST enter this date on the grade submission roster (MM/DD/YYYY format; ex. 05/05/2017).

If you’re instructing a baking/culinary lab (or a course with an experiential education component) and dropping a student due to excessive absences, you must enter a grade of W along with a last attend date on the grade submission roster (MM/DD/YYYY format; ex. 05/05/2017).

Last Attend Date = when the student was last engaged with the course; determine the date based on class attendance, submission of assignments or other significant course interaction.

When students do not complete a course, JWU is required to record this date to comply with federal financial aid regulations.

Note: if the Rolled column = Y, you must email the date:

What happens if I do not enter grades on-time or follow grading instructions?

You MUST submit an individual grade change for each student.

This information is reported to all academic deans & chairpersons.

Grading late or issuing an incorrect grade poses serious risks to students.

They could lose scholarships, financial aid, tuition reimbursement, honors status, athletic eligibility, good-student insurance discounts, and/or Veteran’s benefits.

Also, they could face graduation delays, academic probation/ dismissal , or postponed admission to a graduate program.
